A complex relocation project involving, directional drills, opencut work, fabrication, shoring, demolition and winter weather, consumed 28,000 man hours. No incidents or accidents occurred thanks to a strong safety ethic, safe work practices, and good training.

Pipefitter's Local Union 597 is providing a much needed service with their new weld test facility in Mokena, IL. 

The new Illinois law HB5546 makes needed changes to the process of excavator locate requests and facility owner/operator response. Changes have been made to the notification process, fines and penalties, and sound requirements for white-lining, planning and design and utility no-shows. 

A Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO), to be successful, must be planned and executed flawlessly, and it must be maintained until work is finished.

Pipelines, pump and compressor stations, electrical sub-stations, and telecommunications data centers all benefit from the speed, bandwidth, reliability and redundancy of a well designed optical network. Electric Conduit Construction delivers this capability to our customers by installing, testing, maintaining and providing emergency response services. 

Gas injection fields act as reservoirs of natural gas supply for the high demand of winter months. They are complex to run and manage. They also require maintenance and replacement of key components. Midwestern Contractors has a long history or work in these facilities. We pride ourselves on working closely with our customers and their engineering firms, and providing constructability input on projects when required.

Pipeline strikes are no joke. That is why the lines are marked. A strike can lead to catastrophic failure. That is the reason Midwestern Contractors reacts immediately to emergencies if a pipeline is hit. 

Work in oil and gas, pipeline and station maintenance requires a very high degree of skill and safety awareness  to stay safe and avoid job site accidents. Midwestern Contractors Safety Team works very hard to help every employee do their job and remain injury free. The annual safety training is one part of the company's overall safety program.

This project included a joint trench containing fiber optic cable, renewable natural gas, fuel gas, and water. About 2000' of right-of-way needed grading and compaction for future access. All fiber was run inside conduit and through a larger casing in the directional bore area.
