28,000+ Man Hours with ZERO safety incidents
Eight Month Project duration
This project involved a complex relocation of two pipelines by opencut and HDD. The work was carried on through a brutal Chicago winter and despite the weather, stayed on schedule without compromising safety. (Case study at 7000 ft. Relocation).
Work tasks included:
- Eight HDD shots traversing through a very tight corridor in the vicinity of active pipelines
- Crews were challenged with unmarked, abandoned pipelines
- No records for abandoned lines requiring extensive hydro-excavation
- Over 5,500 linear feet of pipeline removed
- Extensive work around wetlands
- Drill string and valve setting fabrication and hydrostatic testing
- Mat placement for equipment and walking
- Working off frozen mats
- Subcontractor tree removal/stump grinding
Anyone of these tasks could have contributed to an incident or accident. Our crews are highly trained and possess a strong safety ethic. Their training has paid off and this project clearly shows that. Congratulations on a job well done.
